Bargello quilts are always dramatic, but this one is exceptional. The classic bargello is twisted into a delightful design enhanced with contrasting fabrics. Believe it or not, these quilts are easier to construct than you might think! This bargello quilt's panels are strip pieced, cut to size, unstitched and then reassembled following a graph to produce the wonderful twisted effect. Award winning Joan Oldham will take you step by step through the process to achieve incredible results using the Husqvarna VIKING Designer SE sewing machine. Machine piecing and rotary cutting experience are prerequisites. The quilt may be made as a wall hanging or bed size quilt.
Pattern: Twisted Bargello by Chris Timmins (available in class or online at www.quiltingbythebay.com)
Fabric: The quilt takes about ½ yard of 20 different fabrics. The wall-hanging takes approximately ¼ yard of 20 different fabrics. The selection of fabrics is important to achieve the desired effect. The value range of the fabrics should be from very light to very dark. If you would prefer to buy a kit please contact Quilting by the Bay in advance of class at phone: 850-215-7282; e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org and let our experienced staff select the fabrics in the colorway of your choice.
